Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur is described by its own site and valuation reports as owned via IGB REIT. The Mid Valley Megamall privacy policy states that MTrustee Berhad as trustee of IGB REIT is the ‘Owner’ for the website, consistent with Malaysian REIT structures where the trustee is the legal owner and the REIT is the beneficial/operating owner. IGB REIT is a listed real estate investment trust on Bursa Malaysia (ticker 5227). IGB Berhad (a separate listed company on Bursa Malaysia, ticker 1597) is the sponsor and ultimate listed corporate parent of the Mid Valley complex, but the immediate operating/beneficial owner of the mall is IGB REIT, with MTrustee Berhad as the registered proprietor holding the property in trust for IGB REIT unitholders.
